Week of September 5
The 6th graders are still learning about Earth's land forms. This will lead into map making (topography) and erosional forces that shape the land.
The 7th graders are learning about Classification of Living Things.
The 8th graders are learning about the properties and states of matter.
At the beginning of class, students are required to copy down the daily agenda in their planners. Most homework assignments are started in class, and are to be finished at home or in study hall. Homework will be assigned about once a week.
In addition to copying down the agenda, the students have a daily journal question that they need to answer. This activity is designed to get students in the practice of keeping a daily log, which will be helpful not only to reinforce what we have learned the previous day, but to help practice making daily entries when we start Science Expo projects.
